8 undeniable signs you have intense romantic chemistry with someone, according to psychology

Is there someone you can’t stay away from in your life? Are you wondering if they feel the same way as you?

So often we think we have connections with people, but they end up being one-sided or we end up being friend-zoned.

This article says that there can be chemistry between all kinds of different people including friends and siblings. So how do we know if this is a romantic connection and how do we know if itโ€™s for real?

Psychologists say there are many signs that you have intense romantic chemistry with someone. So read on to find out what they are.

1) You feel drawn to each other

When youโ€™re in the same place are the two of you drawn to each other? Are they the first person you want to talk to when youโ€™re together in a group?

If they seem to be drawn to you too this may be a sign that you have an intense romantic chemistry

Often other people will notice and probably mention something about it.

According to this psychologist, it might even be a magnetic feeling. Itโ€™s a pulling feeling that is hard to explain, but you just want to be close to each other as often as possible.

They continue by saying that you probably are drawn to this person so much because as well as making you feel happy they also make you feel safe and comfortable. A different feeling than you get from most other people in your life.

2) Deep emotional connection

Have you noticed that because you feel so comfortable with this person, you begin to develop a deep emotional connection? Perhaps both of you share some personal things that you wouldnโ€™t share with just anyone.

Once you both begin to share and create a connection like this, you are developing something. It also means you trust each other, and

A part of this, according to this article on chemistry, is feeling like you know the person deeply and that they just get you. Maybe you have only just met but you feel like youโ€™ve known them your whole life. The article goes on to say that if there isnโ€™t a romantic connection between the two of you, then youโ€™ll not feel drawn to them, and instead possibly feeling awkward when together.

3) Playful banter or flirting

Do you know a good way to gauge if someone is interested in you? Yeah, you guessed it, a harmless bit of flirting.

Once youโ€™ve found someone who will flirt back with you, it often develops into a bit of lighthearted teasing or playful banter. This shows that they are interested in you and want you to notice and interact with them.

This article on relationships explains that flirting is a sensual way to keep the connection going.

Flirting might look like, suggestive looks, smiles, gestures, teasing, touch, or even texts. And as much as we all hope that no one else notices our flirting, itโ€™s often not hard to miss, and you may end up with your friends letting you know theyโ€™ve noticed it.

However, this isnโ€™t a bad thing if the flirting is reciprocated. In effect, its a confirmation that the two of you have got something good going on.

4) Losing track of time

Have you heard the phrase โ€œTime flies when youโ€™re having funโ€? This can often happen when youโ€™re really into someone and they feel the same.

I remember a friend of mine going on a first date with someone whom she had been speaking to for a little bit. They ended up talking in the car for 6 hours because theyโ€™d completely lost track of time. To cut the story short, they ended up married. So you canโ€™t say there wasnโ€™t an intense romantic connection between them.

Psychologists say that time seems to run away when you are with someone you have romantic chemistry with. This is because you want to get to know all of them and share everything that makes you tick.

5) Their presence energizes you

Can you think of a time when hanging out with someone was exhausting? Now think about how you feel when you spend time with this person. How do you feel afterward?

If you feel energized and relaxed then it is a sign that you two might have an intense romantic chemistry. It means that there is a chance that in the future youโ€™d be ok living together, because you donโ€™t feel like you need time apart to relax and recharge.

We all charge differently, but for me, as much as people think Iโ€™m an extrovert, I need (and enjoy) a lot of time alone to recharge.

So, when I meet someone who I donโ€™t need a break from, then I know thereโ€™s more to it than meets the eye. If I could be myself and do all the things that Iโ€™d do when alone in their presence, then Iโ€™d be pretty sure that we had some good romantic chemistry.

6) Shared laughter and inside jokes

Have you ever seen two people together laughing about things no one else understands? Sitting together having the time of their lives in the middle of a group of people, forgetting that anyone else is there.

Thatโ€™s a sign that these two have intense romantic chemistry. When your life begins to revolve around another person, and theirs around yours you start forgetting about the people around you and focus on your relationship. Thatโ€™s what these inside jokes are doing.

The writer of this article says that itโ€™s more about seeing the other person happy. That you find joy in their joy. It also shows that you share the same sense of humor, which means that youโ€™ve got a lot in common.

7) Strong physical attraction

How do you feel when you see this person? Do you think about how good-looking they are? Do you notice how they dress or do their hair? Has this person ever complimented you on the way you look?

This might seem like a no-brainer, but a strong physical attraction from both parties is yet another sign there is romantic chemistry there.

Psychologists explain that physical attraction is usually one of the obvious causes of intense chemistry since both people need to be drawn to each other sexually.

Iโ€™m not saying that itโ€™s the be-all and end-all of a relationship, and often physical attraction deepens as you get to know someone. However, some form of physical attraction is important because usually, this results in more affection and a better level of physical intimacy.

8) Desire for intimacy

Iโ€™m sure you wonโ€™t be surprised to find out that another sign that you have intense romantic chemistry with someone is a desire for intimacy.

How many times have you daydreamed about getting together? How do you feel every time you touch? Does it make you want more?

It’s only natural for us to feel like getting close to someone when we are attracted to them, especially if the attraction is reciprocated.

This psychological article explains that it feels like youโ€™re being drawn to someone. It also says that it can be quite obvious.

So, as much as you probably donโ€™t want anyone else noticing this, it means that you will likely notice if the other person is feeling the same. Which then, of course, is another strong sign that the two of you have intense romantic chemistry with each other.

So, if youโ€™ve gone through each of these signs nodding to yourself, itโ€™s time to just go for it!
