How do you know if you have a pure heart?
Well, you have 25 characteristics that set you apart from others – the likes of which you’ll find below.
1) Honesty is your best policy
The truth is not always beautiful, says the Chinese philosopher Lao Tzu. But if you’re a pure-hearted person, you know that the truth is the only way to go.
You won’t lie, deceive, or manipulate people in their path – even if it means potentially hurting you.
2) You’re humble
Even if you’re loaded and have accomplished unbelievable things, you remain humble and down to earth.
More often than not, it’s because you know how to tap into your personal power.
See, we all have an incredible amount of power and potential within us, but most of us never fully realize it. We become bogged down in self-doubt and limiting beliefs. We stop doing what brings us true happiness.
You can learn this – and more – shaman Rudá Iandê. He’s helped thousands of people align work, family, spirituality, and love so they can unlock the door to their personal power.
He has a unique approach that combines traditional ancient shamanic techniques with a modern-day twist. It’s an approach that uses nothing but your inner strength – no gimmicks or fake claims of empowerment.
Because true empowerment needs to come from within.
In his excellent free video, Rudá explains how you can create the pure-hearted life you’ve always dreamed of.
So if you’re tired of living in frustration, dreaming but never achieving, and living in self-doubt, you need to check out his life-changing advice.

3) You do things the right way
There’s the easy way, and there’s the right way. But in your heart, you know the latter is always the way to go.
You’re always guided by their morals and principles whenever you do something. So even though you know there’s a shortcut – or you could do the exact opposite – you wouldn’t.
You’ll stick by the right method, no matter how long the process may take.
4) You’re trustworthy
You’re trustworthy because you have a pure heart that makes you feel guilty easily. As research explains it: “People who were guilt-prone also reported feeling an obligation to act in ethical and responsible ways while interacting.”
Even if it’s just a small and relatively harmless act, you’ll do whatever you can to make it right. As I’ve said, you always do things the right way (and I applaud you for that!)
5) …and you trust others
Apart from being a trustworthy person, your pure heart makes it easier for you to trust others.
You know for a fact that “not trusting others makes it difficult to function in a community.”
Indeed it is. As the report goes on to explain:
“A trusting attitude has an important role to play in helping individuals flourish in society. Trust allows individuals to connect with and support others, by engaging and communicating with others who may be different from themselves.”
Needless to say, it’s your trust in others (among many other things) that makes you a cut above the rest.
6) You’re kind
In this modern day and age, some people can’t help but feel suspicious.
Not you, though. You’re always kind.
And while people may call you out for that, you know for a fact that it heals, nourishes, and strengthens your spirit. It uplifts you, which is why you’re always a cut above others.
7) You’re resilient
Just like any other person, you have encountered obstacles and disappointments along the way. What makes you different, however, is that you’re unbelievably resilient. You have the capacity to bounce back after a crisis.
And if you’re still working to develop this resilience, all you need to do is watch the unusual free breathwork video created by the shaman Rudá Iandê.
It focuses on dissolving stress and boosting inner peace, among many other things.
Before watching the video, I felt tense all the time. My self-esteem and confidence hit rock bottom.
I had nothing to lose, so I went ahead and tried the free breathwork video. To my surprise, the results were incredible!
But before we go any further, why am I telling you about this?
I’m a big believer in sharing – I want others to feel as empowered as I do. And, if it worked for me, it could help you too.
Rudá hasn’t just created a bog-standard breathing exercise – he’s cleverly combined his many years of breathwork practice and shamanism to create this incredible flow – and it’s free to take part in.
8) You’re very respectful
As a pure-hearted person, you’re always very respectful – even when people are being rude to you.
You’re a staunch believer of the saying “If you want respect, show respect.”
The way you show respect is not just one-faceted, though. You listen actively, show empathy, and express gratitude – other characteristics your pure heart possesses (and the likes of which I’ll discuss later on.)
9) You’re empathic
Pure-hearted people like you are mostly empaths. That means you “have an incredible ability to draw others toward them and tend to have really charismatic personalities.
(You) are the kind of people who can read a room, and read your thoughts… (You) can pick up on your body signals and tell (them) how (they) are feeling.”
10) You’re not quick to judge
A pure-hearted person knows that they mustn’t judge a book by its cover.
While first impressions do last, you realize it’s best to know the person better before making any assumptions.
11) You’re a great listener
A lot of us don’t bother to listen to what others try to tell us. We just hear them, so their words just flow through instead of swirling inside our heads.
That’s why pure-hearted people like you differ from others.
You know how to actively listen, which “involves full attention to what is being said for the primary purpose of understanding the speaker.”
In other words, you always:
- Focus your attention on the speaker
- Allow the other person to finish speaking before interrupting
- Listen without making judgments (as I’ve mentioned in number 3)
- Repeat what you heard to ensure accuracy
- Ask questions whenever needed
- Summarize what the other person has said
12) You think before they speak
Most people can be blunt and just utter the first thing that comes to their minds. But this isn’t the case with your pure heart.
You think before they speak, for you know how harsh certain words could be.
13) You put others’ needs above their own
Most people can be quite selfish. A pure-hearted person, however, always remains selfless.
You’ll look out for others, and place your needs above their own.
And you’re not wrong, though. Research has shown that “Selflessness was strongly and moderately related to two mediating variables: respectively, feeling of being in harmony and emotional stability.”
Furthermore, selflessness has also been touted as good for one’s health.
As the study further explains:
“Selflessness increases inner-peace… (and) Inner-peace was associated with a lower level of cortisol, a steroid hormone involved in cardiovascular disease.”
14) You lift others up
It’s a dog-eat-dog world out there. And while others will try to pull the rest down, your pure heart always makes you want to lift others up.
You’ll do whatever you can to help – so that others can achieve whatever it is they want to achieve.
15) You help bring out the best in others
Apart from lifting others up, your pure-hearted soul also helps you bring out the best in others.
Unlike those who only see the negatives, you always see the positive – no matter how minute they may be.
And it’s not only the others you’re helping, though. You’re also helping yourself.
“Seeing the good in others is thus a simple but very powerful way to feel happier and more confident, and become more loving and more productive in the world,” explains psychologist Rick Hanson, Ph.D.
16) You’re never envious
Even if the people around you have 100x more than you have, you’re never envious of them. In fact, you’re very happy for them (again, which is why you’re known to lift others up.)
17) You’re quick to forgive
A pure-hearted person like you won’t hold grudges for years on end. You have the great capacity to forgive, which most people find hard to do.
That said, you know for a fact that “Forgiveness is not saying what happened was ok. Forgiveness is not saying you accept the person who wronged you.”
As Rubin Khoddam, Ph.D. emphasizes in his Psychology Today article:
“Forgiveness is choosing to accept what happened as it happened rather than what could or should have happened. Forgiveness can mean that you let go. Forgiveness can mean you love from a distance. Forgiveness can mean you step into your present rather than anchoring in the past.”
Indeed, these beliefs make pure-hearted people quick to forgive – even when it seems like the unforgivable has been done to them.
18) You’re all for peace and harmony
Other people can only create (or worsen) rifts between people. But thanks to your pure heart, you can easily help resolve them.
You’re a peace-loving person, and it’s obvious in the way you deal with others. Whenever someone goes at you guns-blazing, you don’t react negatively. Instead, you stay calm and hear them out (thanks to your fantastic listening skills.)
And because you’re quick to forgive, peace and harmony are always flowing around you.
19) People find it ‘easy’ to be around you
Do people feel at ease whenever they’re around you? Well, it’s a sign that you have a pure heart.
After all, you have the characteristics that others like in a person. You’re trustworthy, respectful, and empathic. Most importantly, you have an open mind that makes you very accepting of each others’ differences.
20) You’re generous
Being a selfless person, it comes as no surprise that pure-hearted people are quite generous too.
And it’s not just about the money, though you tend to give whatever amount you can as well.
You’re generous with your time, love, and support, among many other helpful things.
21) You’re always grateful
You may not have a lot in life, but you’re grateful for the things that you do have. In fact, it’s why you’re happier than most of the people around you.
As a Harvard Health article puts it:
“Gratitude is strongly and consistently associated with greater happiness. Gratitude helps people feel more positive emotions, relish good experiences, improve their health, deal with adversity, and build strong relationships.”
22) You’re open-minded
Since you have a pure heart, it’s also easier for you to keep an open mind. In other words, you are very “receptive to a wide variety of ideas, arguments, and information.”
Strictly speaking, opening your mind is a cakewalk for you because you’re a very respectful person.
You’re not quick to judge.
You know that each person is unique, that’s why you can easily accept such differences.
That’s why people like being around you!
23) You take accountability for your actions
When a pure-hearted person like you does something wrong, you’ll take 100% responsibility for it. You won’t blame it on circumstances – or others, for that matter.
You know it’s always for the better.
“It is a ‘response-ability.’ The ability to choose our response in every moment to all that is going on around us. A choice that allows us to claim ownership of the circumstances of our lives, and thereby, to contribute to making them better.”
24) You always wear a smile
It isn’t hard for you to smile, and that’s because you’re living a pure life.
You’re a good person who does things the right way. You find joy in the littlest things. There’s not a shred of guilt or disdain in your heart, which is why you always wear a smile around!
25) You find joy in the simple things
As a pure-hearted person, it doesn’t take a lot to make you happy.
You don’t need pricey gifts or over-the-top expressions of gratitude. A simple greeting or a small, inexpensive present is enough to keep you smiling all day.
So…have you checked several signs on this list? Well, it means you have a pure heart!
And while people may say otherwise, I say continue keeping pure. The world needs a lot of pure souls right now!
Putting yourself first
Hey, Lachlan from Hack Spirit here.
What’s your number one goal at the moment?
Is it to buy that car you’ve been saving up for?
To finally start that side-hustle that’ll hopefully help you quit your 9-5 one day?
Or to take the leap and finally ask your partner to move in?
Whatever it is, you’re not going to get there, unless you’ve got a plan.
And even then…plans fail.
But I didn’t write this to you to be the voice of doom and gloom…
No, I’m writing this because I want to help you achieve the goals you’ve set.
I’ve recently been taking part in a workshop called Life Journal created by teacher and career coach Jeanette Brown.
Covering all the basics and more on what’s needed to reach your goals, Jeannette tackles everything from creating habits and new behavior patterns to putting your plans into action.
She doesn’t mess around – this workshop will require effort on your part but that’s the beauty of it – Jeanette has carefully designed it to put YOU in the driving seat of your life.
So…think back to that important goal I asked about at the start of this message.
How much do you want it?
Are you willing to put the effort in to get there?
If so, check out the workshop here.
If you do take part, I’d love to hear how your Life Journey goes!
All the best,
