The parameters for defining a woman with a good heart are numerous and often nebulous. One thing’s for sure though: when you’re around a good-hearted woman you know it, because you can feel it.
In psychology, good-heartedness correlates with a personality trait defined as “agreeableness.” Makes perfect sense, doesn’t it?
And being a kind-hearted soul doesn’t just benefit those around you, it also adds more positivity in your own life.
Recent studies suggest that people who are nice to others are more likely to get the same treatment in return. Most people will match your energy, either consciously or unconsciously. This means they’ll probably reciprocate with kindness when they are shown kindness.
A kind person usually stands out without even trying, but several signs indicate that either you or a loved one is a kindhearted woman, according to psychology.
1) She is kind
Let’s kick things off with the biggest asset a good-hearted woman has – her innate affinity for kindness.
Being kind in a cruel world can be challenging emotionally. But women with a good heart still consistently choose to be kind instead of judgmental and hurtful.
No matter how hard a kind person is struggling, they still prefer to lift others up instead of tearing them down. It’s just their nature.
2) She is empathetic
Psychology teaches us that empathy is the ability to put yourself in another person’s shoes. It’s a skill that good-hearted women have in droves.
They’re instinctually caring and compassionate, particularly if someone around them is going through tough times.
Warm-hearted folks know that the kindest thing you can do for someone who is struggling is to look at the situation from their perspective, and then react accordingly.
3) She has a fragile heart
Kind people are generally sensitive and tenderhearted. It just goes with the territory.
Goodhearted people are approachable and friendly, but make no mistake – their fragile hearts aren’t up for grabs. It’s far too delicate to trust the hands of those who might mean to break it.
But they’d never hesitate to entrust their tender heart to their nearest and dearest because they believe it’s in good hands.
If they find out otherwise, it’s extremely traumatic.
Scientific evidence suggests that if someone in their circle of trust betrays them, a kindhearted person will be devastated emotionally. It’s challenging for a kind person to move on from that kind of treachery.
4) She’s touched by beauty
The fruits of creativity deeply move a good-hearted soul. They are inspired by artistic passion whether they possess it themselves or not.
Kind people appreciate a lilting musical note or masterful brush stroke as no other.
The beauty of the natural world also strikes a deep chord with good-hearted folks. They’ve been known to fall in love with a new locale almost immediately. It has the same urgency as romantic love at first sight for these women.
5) She expresses her emotions
Not only does a good-hearted woman vibe with your emotions, she’s also in touch with her own.
According to “Psychology Today,” people with high emotional intelligence, such as good-hearted people, are tuned into their emotions and have the skills to successfully manage them.
This is a very desirable superpower, as emotional self-control is essential for healthy relationships. It’s also not a skill that comes naturally to everyone.
6) She’s open-minded
Good-hearted people are genuinely interested in the world around them and don’t live in a bubble away from diverse people and new ideas.
So it stands to reason that kind people welcome fresh perspectives and innovative thinking. They don’t allow their egos to stand in the way of someone else’s good idea, either.
Goodhearted people definitely have a “we’re all in this together” vibe that draws people to them.
Their empathic nature embraces everyone’s individual path and acknowledges that we all bring our own baggage to every situation, including our emotions and unique experiences.
Research also confirms that a kind person’s open-mindedness also means they’ll not be quick to judge you. It wouldn’t even occur to them because good-hearted souls don’t care about your past or feel the need to hold it over your head.
They understand people make mistakes, but that doesn’t mean you must pay for them for the rest of your life.
Kind folks are receptive to all insight and perspectives from outside sources and embrace it as a chance for growth. They are not the sort to swoop in and tell someone their beliefs or opinions are wrong just because they disagree.
7) She’s inclusive
Imagine you’re in hell, i.e. trapped in a room with total strangers. You feel self-conscious like you stick out like a sore thumb. An unwelcome sore thumb, at that.
Your introverted soul wants to be anywhere but there. But then someone sporting a friendly grin ambles over your way and makes you forget that you were wishing the floor would swallow you up.
That’s another gift of warm-hearted women. They can effortlessly put others at ease and make them feel included.
8) She’s not materialistic
A good-hearted woman appreciates new experiences over the collection of material possessions. A cherished memory holds more worth than an object ever could.
Kindhearted people aren’t defined by their possessions or bank balance. Nor do they judge someone else’s worth based on their financial or social status.
9) She’s not superficial
Superficial beauty fades, but inner beauty is eternal. A good-hearted woman isn’t impressed by an attractive outer appearance unless she knows there’s a man of character on the inside.
This type of woman notices how someone treats people, especially those they hold power over. A guy who treats his employees poorly or is condescending to servers is a complete turn-off to a kind person.
10) She advocates for others
Good-hearted people know in their hearts that no one deserves to suffer, especially at the hands of another human being.
Kind women tend to be protective of the disenfranchised and marginalized communities. They consider it their moral duty to speak for others who don’t have a voice.
It takes immense courage to advocate for others, especially in modern society’s chaotic maelstrom. But that big heart of hers discounts the danger to empower others and tries to make the world a better place for everyone, not just a select few.
Kind people aren’t generally prone to anger but they’ll make an exception for injustice. Then people regret mistaking their kindness for passivity.
Final thoughts
Kindhearted women are quick to see the beauty all around them and find joy in it. Just the smell of spring air or watching little children play in a sprinkler is enough to make her day.
Not surprisingly, topping the list of traits people want in a partner is someone with a warm heart. That’s because we feel calm and happy around someone who’s kind, compassionate, and understanding.
We need more of these folks in the world. If you can’t find one, then be one!
