Are you able to pick up on things that most people miss? It’s like you just get a gut feeling and more often than not it turns out to be right.
This is called intuition and it’s incredibly powerful: if you have it, you’re very lucky. It means you’re tuned into specific things that most other people just don’t notice.
You’re probably wondering what kinds of things we’re talking about.
Well, you’re in the right place, I’m about to share 7 things that people with truly powerful intuition often sense about other people.
If you’ve experienced a lot of these things, there’s a good chance you’re highly intuitive.
Let’s get started.
1) Their level of authenticity
Did you ever meet someone and automatically think there’s something off. It’s like you don’t believe they’re showing their true colors? They seem to lack authenticity.
As outlined by Psychology Today, being authentic is all about aligning your actions with your core values and beliefs and then acting in sync with, your true self.
Someone who lacks authenticity might be described as a fake, a fraud, or an imposter. And your intuition allows you to detect this in others.
The thing is: you’ve just met them and you have no real reason to question them yet it’s a feeling you just can’t shake.
The weirdest part is, as time goes by and you get to know the person more, your initial feelings usually turn out to be spot on.
If this rings any bells for you, it’s a sign you’ve got truly powerful intuition.
2) Their strengths and weaknesses
You know when you meet someone and you instantly feel like you’ve already worked out their strengths and weaknesses?
As someone with high levels of intuition, you’ve experienced this first-hand. You don’t need more than a few seconds to figure out what areas people excel in and what areas they struggle.
Does this strike a chord with you?
It might sound strange but research backs it up. One study showed that intuition allows people to accurately assess someone’s level of ability in their job by reviewing just a 10-second clip of them.
If you can sense someone’s strengths and weaknesses quickly, it’s a dead giveaway that you’re a highly intuitive person.
3) Their emotions
Do you ever feel like you can sense how someone is feeling, without them telling you?
If you answered yes, then it’s a clear sign that you’re both an empath and highly intuitive, the two go hand in hand.
Here’s why: someone who is highly perceptive to their feelings and the feelings of others are called empaths and as outlined by WebMD being perceptive like this “typically comes through some intuitive abilities.”
It’s like you can just sense it when someone is sad, angry, frustrated and so on even though they try to hide it and act normal. They haven’t done anything specific to let you know how they’re feeling, you can just sense it.
My friend Mia has this talent. A while back, I was stressed about a work project and wasn’t myself. Out for dinner with some friends, I tried to put on a brave face. Mia saw right through it and asked me what was going on. I was glad she did and felt better after talking to her.
Powerful intuition like this makes it possible for you to be a supportive friend, like Mia. But it’s important to remember you don’t want to invade someone’s privacy either. The best thing is to be there for them if they choose to open up to you. If not, that’s fine too.
4) Their level of honesty
Did you know that on average people lie 1-2 times per day?
If you’ve got powerful intuition, chances are you’ll be able to detect dishonesty more easily than most people.
This isn’t about being a lie detection expert in the FBI. You’re not necessarily reading the typical cues that suggest someone is lying like breaking eye contact or sweaty palms, you just feel it in your gut.
And you’ve learned to trust it because it’s usually right.
Interestingly, there’s research to support this, finding “that we’re better at detecting deception..by relying on intuition rather than reflection.” as outlined by human behavior expert Matthew Hutson.
Being able to detect dishonesty like this is a sign of someone who is highly intuitive.
5) Their unspoken needs
Have you ever been out with someone and it’s like they can anticipate your needs without you ever saying a word?
People like this are usually highly emotionally intelligent and therefore empathetic. The combination of empathy and intuition, allows them to pick up on the needs of others without a word being said.
They’ll notice that you’re uncomfortable in a social situation and ask if you’d like to go outside for some air. Or they’ll pick up on your shy, reserved nature and ask you a question to invite you into conversation.
I’m sure you’ve been in a situation where as a guest, you needed something but you didn’t want to ask. There’s no better feeling than when someone senses it and helps you out without you having to say anything, right?
Being able to detect and act on unspoken needs is a true gift and a sure sign of truly powerful intuition.
6) Their personal values
What core values do you live by?
I’m talking about things like honesty, integrity, and respect. Values are part of who you are and they guide you through life. There are lots of common core values but it’s about what really resonates with you.
Most of us know our core values. Intuitive people not only recognize their core values, but they can also pick up on what’s most important to others just by having simple interactions with them.
They’ve got a knack for figuring out what really matters to someone. It’s almost like can see through our walls and get to the core of who we are instantly.
My Dad’s like this, he’s always able to pinpoint someone’s values within a few minutes of meeting them. It’s been really useful for him developing relationships in business and shows he’s got great intuition.
7) Their unrealized potential
Have you ever met someone, and pretty quickly you just knew they’re destined for big things?
It’s nothing to do with their background or their education, you just get a sense from talking to them that they’ve got heaps of unrealized potential.
The funny thing is: sometimes, even they can’t see it themselves, but you just know they’ve got a lot to offer the world.
I recently watched an interview with entrepreneur and Diary of A CEO podcast host, Steven Bartlett talking about his investing strategy. He shared that as an investor it’s as much about investing in the person and seeing their potential as it is their product.
This is really another way of saying that he relies on his intuition to spot unrealized potential in up-and-coming entrepreneurs.
Are you able to spot unrealized potential in people just by following your gut? If so, you’re one of the highly intuitive people with a very special talent.
Final thoughts
How many of these things do you recognize in yourself?
Being able to pick up on things that most people don’t is a true gift. If you’ve already figured out that you can trust your gut, embrace it and nurture it.
And remember, having powerful intuition is not a talent that everyone has so tap into it and never ever take it for granted.
