Successful and happy women implement daily practices that help them achieve the greatest success and fulfilment.
In this article, I’ve listed 11 of those daily practices of successful and happy women and some tips on how we can incorporate these into our lives.
1) They set goals for the day
Do you know what separates successful women from the rest?
Successful women set goals, both long and short-term. They set goals for each day, and it’s these goals that help bring them one step closer to hitting those long-term ones.
If they want to find a place of their own, they may plan to contact several agencies or landlords daily. Or if they’ve moved to a new city and want to meet new people, they’ll stop by at a few events during the week and put themselves out there.
When you set goals, it’s easier to organize your day so you don’t waste time doing things that serve little to no purpose, such as spending half the day scrolling through social media.
Therefore, your day will be more productive, and you’ll be well on your way to smashing those big goals you’ve set for yourself.
The end result? You’ll be both happier and more likely to succeed.
You can list what you want to do the night before or write it in your calendar. That way, you can hit the ground running when you wake up the next day.
2) They organize themselves
By setting goals, successful and happy women implement structure into their daily routines, which helps keep them on track.
They might have daily and weekly to-do lists and use a calendar to plan each day.
They may even plan what clothes they will wear the next day so they don’t waste precious minutes rummaging through their wardrobe in the morning.
I work from home, so it’s easy to get distracted. But I fill out my calendar with the times I am going to work, do the washing, wash my hair, and so forth so I can have a productive day and tick off my goals along the way.
Being organized also means you can fit in activities and ensure that you get them done.
Example: If a woman wants to fit more exercise into their weekly routine, she may set her alarms for a specific time so she can go for a morning run before work. Without that organization, she’d probably opt to sleep in instead!
3) They exercise regularly
Speaking of exercise.
Regular exercise is good for you and has been proven to improve your mood and health.
There are other benefits to exercise too. It can help reduce the risk of disease, anxiety and depression. And if you’ve been struggling to sleep, regularly exercising can help with that too.
Successful and happy women make sure to get enough exercise daily, so they might go for a morning run, as mentioned earlier or hit the gym during their break.
To fit exercise into your daily routine, you can try taking the stairs instead of the lift or walking to work instead of driving (if you can).
You can also try yoga or take dance classes for that extra mood boost.
4) They get enough sleep
You might assume that all successful women wake up at 5am on the dot and work until the late hours of the morning.
But success doesn’t have to mean sleeping late and waking up extra early.
Successful and happy women make sure to get enough sleep because it helps them focus and get more done.
Not getting enough sleep is detrimental – not only to your health but your productivity too.
Studies show that a lack of sleep can affect your job performance, lead to poor concentration, and cause you to get easily distracted.
It’s best to aim for at least 7 hours of sleep since this helps our brains to focus and be more alert.
Do you struggle to get to sleep? If so, you can try:
- Going to bed at the same time each night
- Avoid bright lights on your phone and laptop before bed
- Relax as it gets closer to your bedtime.
These tips can help our brains get used to our bedtime and go into shut-off mode, which can help us drift off to sleep easier.
5) They take care of themselves
Getting enough shut-eye is just one way to take care of ourselves.
While happy and successful women work hard, they understand the importance of looking after themselves in all aspects of their lives.
By putting their health and well-being first, happy women know this will only aid their success.
Successful and happy women take care of themselves by:
- Getting enough sleep
- Eating healthily
- Taking regular breaks from work
- Exercising regularly
- Treating themselves
- Spending time outside
One thing that helps me is to journal, as I can be quite the overthinker. Writing down my thoughts helps clear my head, which gives me peace of mind. Meditation is also great, especially when you are stressed.
6) They eat healthily
As I mentioned previously, healthy eating is another daily practice of successful and happy women.
While eating junk food can give you a temporary energy boost, once that energy depletes, you can be left feeling tired and in a cranky mood. Junk food with too much salt and saturated fats can also raise your blood pressure levels.
Healthy foods help to sustain your energy levels for longer, and this helps with your productivity.
Some other benefits of healthy eating are that it helps protect your heart, prevents heart disease, keeps your bones strong and boosts your mood.
Stuck on what to include in your diet? Plenty of fruits and vegetables help. You can also add lean meat, eggs, nuts and whole grains to your palette for a healthy diet.
Keep your energy levels up by eating regularly. And if you can, eat breakfast, lunch and dinner to keep you energized and ready to go throughout the day.
7) They maintain a work/life balance
Successful women work hard for their success. But being happy means setting boundaries with work, which is a practice successful and happy women stand by. As the old saying goes, work hard, play hard.
They don’t overwork themselves as they know it will affect their health and happiness.
Overworking can also affect personal relationships, sleep, and increase the risk of anxiety and depression.
With that being said, successful and happy women are careful not to let work bleed into their personal lives. That means when they’re off the clock, they are off the clock.
Maintaining a work/life balance means that successful and happy women can fit in quality time with their loved ones, have time to eat healthily and exercise, fulfil their hobbies and interests, and have downtime to relax.
8) They celebrate their wins
When you set goals, it can sometimes be hard to stay motivated. It helps successful and happy women to celebrate their wins along the way, no matter how big or small.
A small win could be getting positive feedback from their manager or a customer. As for the big wins, they might land a pay rise or promotion.
Successful and happy women reward themselves when they ‘win’. It’s what keeps them motivated, happy and fulfilled.
So, when you achieve a goal, treat yourself! Reward yourself with a snack, a glass of wine, or a short break away. Any goal you achieve deserves to be rewarded in some way.
9) They keep a positive frame of mind
When successful and happy women wake up, they visualize positive outcomes for their day and bombard themselves with positive affirmations. ‘Today will be a good day’. ‘I will knock this project out of the park!’
This helps them to tackle each day with a positive frame of mind and live in the present moment.
They are not thinking about that one big mistake they made in the past or where they’ll end up in the future. They live in the here and now, which only contributes to their happiness.

Research shows that consistently writing what you’re grateful for helps you to be happier and more optimistic.
So, get those journals out and start journaling daily about what you’re grateful for – you will benefit from it!

They also tend to read widely – anything from books on personal development and autobiographies to fiction and articles like this one!
Successful and happy women also seek different perspectives, meaning they’ll turn to their colleagues or friends for advice and learn from them. This helps them to further gain the tools to help them succeed.
Successful and happy women are fulfilled and thriving because of the daily practices they incorporate into their lives.
They allow their big brains to rest by getting enough sleep. They also eat healthily, exercise and set daily goals to help keep them on track.
Along the way, successful and happy women bask in the present moment and tackle each day with a positive mindset.
