6 Powerful Beliefs That Free You From Negativity

Negative thoughts are a silent killer.  They creep into your mind quietly and before you know it, you’re totally overcome with negativity and you have no idea how you got there.

The good news is that there is a cure!  The effects aren’t permanent and you can turn that bad mindset around.  But where do you even start?

Have no fear!  Here are 6 things that positive people believe.

1) Is the glass half full or half empty?

Every day you choose to either see the glass as half full or half empty.  If you’re waking up every day assuming that the glass will always be half empty and focusing on the things you don’t have, then you’ll never have a positive mindset.  Instead of thinking of all the things that can go wrong, start thinking about all the good things in your life and all the reasons you should be appreciative.

2) Look Forward to the Future.

The future is full of possibilities and endless options for change and growth.  Only you have the power to change the direction of your life and where you go.  You’re also the only one who has a say in your happiness.  Life can be unpredictable at times, but nothing can change who you are.  Look forward to the future with excitement, not dread!

3) Change Your Outlook.

Happiness is a lifestyle, not just a feeling.  Life is a roller coaster and that can’t be helped.  That doesn’t mean you have to only focus on the downs.  There are far more ups that you should be thinking on!  By seeing all the possibilities in a positive light, you’re not allowing the dark shadows of negativity to creep in.

4) Stop the Negative Thoughts in Their Tracks.

The best way to get rid of a problem is to start at the source.  You need to learn what the negativity feels like when it starts leaking into your mind.  Once you’re able to identify this, you’re able to stop the pessimism before it even starts.  Turn the negative thoughts around and mold them into something positive!

5) Quit Complaining.

Feeling bad for yourself is a surefire way to start in a downward spiral towards negativity.  When you think your life is horrible, what reason do you have to be happy?  None, right?  Your life is a lot better than you think it is!  And you can make it even better with a happier and more optimistic outlook on life.

6) The Self-Fulfilling Prophecy is Real.

The self-fulfilling prophecy is the idea that when you think something bad will happen, you unknowingly do small things to make sure that bad thing happens.  The same goes for your thoughts!  If you keep thinking life is awful, then you’ll sabotage yourself and make sure that it is, in fact, awful.  But if you’re thinking that something great will happen, then your chances of that coming true are already higher!

You have the power to live a more positive life.  The control is only in your hands to make sure you’re living the fullest and happiest life that you can.  So turn those negative thoughts around and replace them with a healthy and happier outlook!
